Interesting to see that you stuck to your original plan and committed to screwing down the pg. Congrats!

I did what any rational man would do after receiving the sage advice of the LOG and obsessively looked at photos of quilt maple tops with and without PG's and decided I liked my original thought most. I had the idea in my head for a while, and as I looked at ones without PGs, I just didn't feel a super strong pull for them. I am grateful for having gone through the process of looking at other designs to see if I should, so thanks for that guys!

Totally with you on this, the original body looked great, but this works surprisingly well as well! I think its the pearl, a plain white would look wrong!
    Congrats!
If your timetable is anything to go by, I should be looking at the first week in Aug

I've seen some other figured tops with a plain PG (mint, white) and they look out of place. All sparkle, all the time is the only way to fly here.

My was bang on 3mo until the drilling glitch, so if that's Aug 1, that's not so far anymore!

Got to rehearse with this last night and it is a definite keeper. Put on some Sadowsky Blue flats and it was fantastic. Going to try some D'Addario EXL165's (45-105) this weekend and see what kind of growl that comes with.

Was playing piano on one song and a very talented guitarist played bass for it. He was extremely complimentary as soon as he picked it up and played the first note.

Looks great, feels great, sounds great. Color me a very happy man.

    9.4lbs for those keeping score.

Very cool! It's always the best news when the bass meets standard in a live setting.
Glad to hear about those Sad Blues - I have a set that I'm waiting to take for a spin.

Can't let it go to waste

Both are beauties, but I think I prefer the top on the one you got, a bit more of a tiger-stripe feel to it.
