| LOG Bass 2010 Is A Go! |
|
Images: (click to enlarge) Dear fellow LOG members, The LOG Bass is going to be made! Dan Lakin is ordering 30 of them, and we want to make sure that you're aware of the chance to order these limited edition basses. If you haven't visited the LOG board lately, you can see from the mockups above (by our own Markusbass, click to enlarge) that the bass is a five-string Bob Glaub with a butterscotch finish (a finish normally offered only for U.S. models). It also comes with a black/white/black pickguard and either a maple fretboard with ebony blocks (never before available on a five-string Skyline) or a rosewood fretboard with pearl blocks. Each bass will come with a certificate of authentication (see the third image above, click to enlarge) noting the serial number of the bass and signed by Dan Lakin. These beautiful basses will be in the first shipment of five-string Skyline Glaubs delivered (estimated date: August/September 2010). And we're getting them at a great price! $1,000 for Supporting (paying) LOG members; $1,150 non supporting members (if ordered through the LOG). In other words, you can save $150 on this bass if you're a supporting member of the LOG. And at either price, this bass is considerably cheaper than that of a Fender P5! The bass will come standard with the excellent Nordstrand NP-5 pickup. (Feel free to ask Randy--blondmix on the LOG and Talkbass--or Doug--basspraiser on the LOG and Talkbass--about how great this pickup sounds in their US BG5s.) You can also order the bass with a Chi-sonic pickup in the P position instead for an additional $200. Finally, we are working on gig bags to go with the bass that should run $50-$75. To reserve your LOG bass, please send a check for $600 (made out to Lakland Musical Instruments) to: Lakland Owners GroupPO box 7203 Algonquin IL 60102-7203 Please make sure to include the following information
If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask a question on the LOG board or send a PM to basspraiser there. Also, check out the thread on the LOG board on this bass, where some questions have already been addressed: LOG Bass Thread Thank you very much for your time, interest and support! The LOG team--Doug, John (Gecko 5 on the LOG and Talkbass) and Greg (GregC on the LOG and Talkbass) P.S. Here's another rundown of the specs in handy bullet-point form:
